The evening commenced with the formal ceremony of the stepping down of the former Mayor Cllr Tina Wren and the new mayor being elected.  Councillor Clarke and his wife were entertained by ‘Technical Hitch’, a group of five boys from Warwick School who provided a Barber Shop Quintel.

This year, the Mayor of Banbury will have Civic Cadets who will accompany him on certain occasions and they are -

Ordinary Cadet Heather Blencowe (B & D Sea Cadet)

Lance Corporal Conor McLennan (Army Cadet)

Councillor Clarke is keen to uphold all the civic ceremonial traditions during his term of office but as a teacher of line dancing is very keen to bring a great deal of fun into the Mayoral events during his term of office.
