A revamp planned for People's Park will see the Park brought back to it's former glory.

The plans are part of an intiative to overhaul all of Banbury's civic parks and increase their use by the public.  Other possible improvements include a total re-design of the children's play area, new footpaths and the installlation of more cctv camera's.  It is also hoped to make the entrances more appealing and attractive, especially the North Bar entrance, The Leys.   Safety aspects in the parks will also be in the spotlight, hedges could be reduced in size, making people feel a lot less uneasy.

Banbury Town Council would like to make the park a lot more inviting to people, something that is a bit more eye-catching than it is at the moment.  People should not expect a new park by the summer but we have started on the very early stages of design.

Parking will also come under the plan, restrictions could soon be enforced meaning anyone not using the park could be penalised.

Grant funding from Cherwell District Council is available and the Town Council will put forward some of the cash itself.
