It is an attractive open plan cemetery benefiting from a wide range of planting throughout the sections. The cremated remains section has recently had improvements, including new trellis fencing, enclosed hedgerow to seclude the area and a memorial bench installed.

In 2008, the Town Council commenced works to extend the cemetery to provide additional burial space, and in April 2009 the extension was officially opened by Cllr Ann Bonner.
The cemetery has undergone a transformation to provide the Town with 8 new lawn sections,
an additional car park and a one way road system, together with extensive landscaping works and a memorial garden created within the new car park.
