Bird Box Workshops
Bird Box Workshops
The workshops are the first in a succession of Banbury in Bloom events. They are held during the second week of March with three primary schools participating, based on a first come, first served basis. The workshops involve children building a basic wooden birdbox from scratch, all prepared materials provided, and these are then taken back to there schools where many wildlife projects are undertaken.
Each year we try to incorporate something different, such as 'bug hotels' or 'recycled bird feeders' using a simple drinks bottle and piece of dowling for a perch. Each school spends a hour which is broke down via a wildlife talk and the the remainder of very enthusiatic hammering.
