Under the limited asurance regime Councils with an annual income or expenditure over £200,000 but below £6,500,000 are now regarded as "smaller" bodies and are subject to an intermediate audit. This requires the completion of an Annual Return which is then sent to the External Auditor for completion along with supporting evidence and an audit questionnaire.
