The Town Mayor hosted a reception inside The Whately Hall hotel for Banbury Town Councillors, Past Town Mayors, local dignitaries and supporters of Banbury Cross. The Bodicote Royal British Legion Youth Band played alongside Banbury Cross and then outside The Whately Hall hotel ready to lead the Civic procession from the Whately, past Banbury Cross and then back up Horsefair to St. Mary’s Church for a 3pm Service.
As the service was to commemorate the Royal Wedding appropriate music was chosen including Trumpet Voluntary by Jeremiah Clarke, Wedding March by Felix Mendelssohn and Panis Angelicus for the anthem. The hymns were ‘Now thank we all our God’ and ‘Love Divine, all loves excelling’.
