Boats & Boat Trips

Boats

Banbury Canal Day would not be without the wonderful boaters who join us every year.

A wide range of privately owned narrowboats and those that sell their wares such as canalware, arts & crafts, clothing and food items.
Take a leisurely browse along the towpaths and stop as you go by.

Our thanks to the Canal & River Trust for looking after the visiting boats upon arrival and throughout the day.

Boat Trips  - Boat trip stations can be found at Sovereign Wharf and to the back of the
centre by the lock.

The Oxfordshire IWA branch will ensure a great day is had by all visitors to the event.  The volunteer team, along with Sovereign Wharf team, will be providing and operating the boat trips throughout the day, an experience not to be missed and a fantastic way to leisurely transport you up and down the canal.  There is no charge for the boat service however all donations are greatly appreciated by the Inland Waterways Association.

Bellboat Regatta - Banbury & District Canoe Club - can be found canalside adjacent to the bus station/opposite The Mill.

The Bellboat Regatta makes a welcome return and a superb response from local guide, scout, brownie and cub groups sees twenty-eight teams taking part throughout the day.

Founded in 1977, Banbury & District Canoe Club (BDCC) is based on the Oxford Canal at Cropredy.  Alongside the competitive racing, the club is renowned for its warm and friendly atmosphere.  With over 150 active members, there is something for everyone - both on and off the water!
