We are looking for an Events Manager to run and develop our vibrant programme of annual events, ranging from popular family entertainments like the Banbury Show and Food Fair, to formal civic occasions such as Remembrance Sunday, Battle of Britain day and parades.

You will be responsible for events in the widest sense, whether part of the Council’s own programme of town and civic events or working with third parties hiring the council’s indoor or outdoor facilities. You will be instrumental in building the reputation of our facilities, whether being used as venues for weddings, conferences and dining, meetings, fundraising events, markets or sporting events. You will be an expert source of advice to assist the Town Clerk in developing the civic ceremonial traditions of the town and support the Town Mayor in carrying out their role.

(£12.85 – £13.69 per hour)

Dependant on experience and qualifications.
37 hours per week
8.00am–4.00pm Monday to Thursday & 8:00am–3:30pm on Friday.

 The Job:

The Council is looking for a Parks & Cemetery Operative to join our team delivering high standards of horticultural maintenance in the Council’s parks, cemeteries, closed churchyard and sports grounds. Duties include carrying out the maintenance of grass areas, shrub borders, hedges and flower beds, measuring and marking out grave spaces, digging and preparing graves and keeping graves tidy.

The Person:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our team. You must possess a full driver’s licence and have experience working as a gardener, landscaper or have worked in the construction industry as ground worker. Ideally using a mechanical excavator, however, if not, you must have a wiliness to learn to use such machinery.

The successful applicant must be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers and enjoy working as part of a team. You should have good communication skills as the role requires interaction with other funeral and cemetery staff. You will must have a caring and compassionate nature for dealing with the general public.
