Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day

On Saturday, June 29th, Banbury Town Council is set to host Armed Forces Day, a poignant tribute honouring service men and women—past, present, and future. This day stands as a meaningful occasion for residents to extend their support and appreciation to those who currently serve or have served in the military.

Banbury Town Council is actively planning a captivating program of military-style entertainment, encompassing diverse static displays, demonstrations, and an array of wartime vehicles designed to captivate visitors of all ages. Visitors are also encouraged to explore a hidden nuclear bunker beneath the town hall. Upon stepping outside, an array of stalls will display military equipment for visitors to inspect.

A highlight of the event will be witnessing members of today’s armed forces, alongside cadets and veterans, uniting in a parade concluding at the town hall on Bridge Street, concluding with a ceremonial salute.

We are excitedly looking forward to the main attraction of this event: the anticipated RAF Flypast featuring a Spitfire or Hurricane.

Armed Forces Day provides Banbury residents with an opportunity to express their gratitude to those who serve in the Armed Forces and to fortify the connection between the military and the communities they serve.
