Having wrapped up our year of events, the countdown for a magical Christmas in Banbury began with a dazzling party as the lights were switched on. The famous Banbury Christmas Lights Switch On took place on Sunday, 26th November 2023. Crowds joined us in front of the Town Hall in Bridge Street for a fun and festive day, which kicked off at 11:00 am with music and dance performances throughout the day, along with fairground rides and attractions. The Switch On occurred at 5 pm, followed by a firework display to mark the start of our festive season.

Following their spectacular World Championship win in Portugal earlier this year, the School for Stars Dance School switched on the lights for us, and were joined on stage by the Town Mayor Cllr Fiaz Ahmed. As well as the amazing community coming together the spectacular Victorian Christmas Market opened its doors again this year in Banbury Market Place selling local gift and crafts along with mouth-watering food and drink!
