The provision of safe, attractive parks and open spaces is a high priority and the Council will continue its programme of repairs, maintenance and improvements as necessary to ensure this is achieved.

The Council has its own in-house grounds maintenance team, with a dedicated team for the cemeteries (Southam Road and Hardwick Hill) and a team for our premier park, "People's Park" and St Mary's Churchyard, plus sports maintenance.

The routine maintenance of our other sites is undertaken by 4th Corner Landscaping, their depot is based at Southam Road Cemetery working in partnership with the Town Council. The contract covers the routine maintenance of the parks and open spaces in the Council's ownership.

The grounds maintenance operation has been separated from the litter picking and dog/litter bin emptying on these sites. Cherwell District Council's Cleansing carry out these operations.

Both contractors will be expected to work together to achieve a high standard of maintenance that will benefit the residents of and visitors to Banbury.
