Banbury's Coronation Celebrations - May 2023

 Banbury's Coronation Celebrations

Banbury's grand park celebration saw around ten thousand people gathering in splendid sunshine to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III. The free-to-enter event at Spiceball Park offered a wide array of food and drinks, all-day music, and exciting entertainment such as crazy golf, climbing walls, caving, circus workshops, go-karts, funfair rides, and more.

There was something special for everyone, and tables and benches were arranged for partygoers to enjoy a communal 'big lunch.' King Charles and Queen Camilla extended good wishes to those participating in the celebratory big lunches, with Banbury's event being one of over 50,000 organised across the country.
Seven bands performed live on stage, offering music to suit all tastes. The festivities continued into the evening, with food and drink stalls remaining open, accompanied by late-night music and ongoing activities.

At 9 pm, the town beacon was lit, and a live fire-show performance delighted the many spectators who stayed late.
