Coronation - The Biggest Party

Banbury’s big party in the park saw an estimated ten thousand people turn out in glorious sunshine to celebrate the coronation of King Charles lll.
Sunday’s free-to-enter spectacular in Spiceball Park treated partygoers to a massive selection of food and drink, great all-day music, plus fabulous entertainment that included crazy golf, climbing wall, caving, circus workshops, go-karts, funfair rides, and much more.
There was something special for just about everyone and tables and benches were set up so that revellers could ‘big lunch’ together.
King Charles and Queen Camilla sent good wishes to those taking part in the celebratory big lunches and Banbury’s was one of more than 50,000 organised across the country.
Other partygoers took their own picnics and camping chairs and soaked up the atmosphere of the celebrations.
Seven bands performed live on stage with music for all tastes.
Action continued into the evening with the food and drink stalls staying open, plus late-night music together with all the activities.
At 9pm the town beacon was lit and a live fire-show performance thrilled the many onlookers who stayed late.
The event was organised by Banbury Town Council, sponsored by Swish Fibre Ltd, and supported by TWE Haulage, Wykham Farm Shop, and Banbury Van and Car Hire Ltd.
