It was fun and excitement all the way at the town mayor’s Party in People’s Park on Sunday (9 July).
The popular free-to-enter family day out provided five hours of non-stop activity that entertained people of all ages.
Mayor Cllr Fiaz Ahmed said: “Everyone I spoke to was having a good time. There was plenty to see and do and eat and drink – and I think everyone went home with lots of happy memories. I know I did.”
The programme included funfair rides, arena displays, charity stalls, ferret racing, go-karting, crazy golf, climbing wall, plus a bar and food and drink stalls.
Huge crowds gathered around the arena to see great acts including Stagecoach Theatre Company, School for Stars, North Oxon Academy Funk Band, and K&H Falconry’s birds of prey display.
Cllr Ahmed said: “It’s a beautiful park – a marvellous setting for a party – and it was my great pleasure to see so many people enjoying themselves.”
He added: “The weather was good – except for the last hour when the rain showers arrived.”
The event was organised by Banbury Town Council.
