Banbury Town Councillor's Surgery - April 2025
Published: 04 April 2025
Saturday 5th April will see the next Town Councillor’s Surgery take place at Banbury Town Hall. Banbury residents are invited to meet their local representatives and express and discuss opinions and issues that affect them as well as their wider community. The surgery will take place 10am – 12pm.
This is an open house session, the latest of the monthly opportunities the people of Banbury have to get to know local councillors, as well as discuss community problems and provide feedback on the latest Town Council campaigns and policies.
Banbury Town Council duties include Banbury Parks, play areas, cemeteries, sports grounds, dog litter bins, allotments, open spaces, bus shelters, annual events, civic events, and the running of Town Hall, one of Banbury’s most iconic landmarks. The Council also assists in numerous crime prevention initiatives.
The representatives present at this month’s Surgery will be Councillor Barry Richards of Ruscote Ward and Councillor Jayne Strangwood of Hardwick West.
As with previous surgeries, these councillors will be on hand to advise and update residents on issues that are directly related to council responsibility, both in their own constituencies and the wider Banbury area. The Banbury Town Councillors have a number of responsibilities that include a wide range of facilities designed to benefit members of the community from every corner of the town.
To ensure the best communication between councillors and the public, residents are encouraged to attend surgeries personally. However, those that cannot make the trip to Town Hall on Saturday 5th April can rest assured that there will be numerous opportunities to do so on the first Saturday of every month this year except for August.
Which Councillor is due to meet the public is decided by a set rota.
Banbury Town Council encourages all Banbury residents to consult the council website at www.banbury.gov.uk or email at info@banbury.gov.uk for the latest news and information – updates and events will also be posted to Facebook (Banbury Town Council) and Instagram (@banburyevents).
